You will be in this study for 18 months. You can stop participating at any time.

Yes, you can keep your blood pressure cuff.

You can track your blood pressure using the log in your education packet. If you have a smartphone, you can also connect to the free Carium app and use it to track your blood pressure. Carium is the blood pressure cuff vendor for this study.

No, you do not have to go to your clinic for study visits. The RHYTHM-BP study is fully remote. If you need in-person assistance, please contact the study staff at the site where you joined the study.

Yes. If you take part in the study, you will receive payments after each study visit. There will be four study visits: the baseline (start of the study), 6-month, 12-month, and 18-month.

This study only includes Black patients because data on high blood pressure show that it is more common and harder to control in this group. Past home blood pressure studies often included too few Black patients, so we still don’t know what works best. This study is meant to find better ways to help and lower the well-known health gap.
